Connie Patterson-Norris, CPM, Chief Operating Officer, McShea Residential Services, Inc., has been recognized by the Property Management Association as its 2011 Alvin L. Sussman Award Recipient. As the recipient for PMA’s highest honor, Connie was presented this award because she amassed an extraordinary record of accomplishment.
McShea Management, Inc. is pleased to announce that Scott McLellan, Vice President, Senior Property Manager and Liz Murphey, Assistant Property Manager, have been elected to the Board of Directors for The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) Chapter 92, Central Maryland.

The 208,000 square foot neighborhood grocery-anchored shopping center is located at 4611 Sangamore Road in Bethesda, Maryland. Tim Connolly, Brian McCarthy and Chuck Kusbit will represent W.C. & A. N. Miller, owner, in the leasing of the center.
Michelle Reed, CPM, ARM, Vice President/Portfolio Manager, McShea Residential Services, Inc., has been recognized by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®), Chapter 92 as its 2011 Accredited Residential Manager of the Year Award. Michelle was also installed as President-Elect for IREM’s Chapter 92.
Children’s Hospital leased 71,000 square feet at 12211 Plum Orchard Drive, a 71,000 square foot, Class A office building in Silver Spring, Maryland. Bob Dickman and Jack McShea represented the Landlord in this transaction.
The Investment Sales Division of McShea & Company, Inc., headed by Director, Joe Friedman, closed the $7M sale of a 100% leased, 34,000 square foot light industrial distribution facility in Merrifield, VA. That's over $200 per square foot at a mid-6% cap rate.
Gayle Thrift, Sr. Vice President, Director of Construction, LEED Green Associate, has been recognized by the Professional Women in Construction, DC Chapter as the 2011 Salute to Women of Achievement, Commercial Real Estate/Property Management Award.
McShea Residential has been named Management Agent for The Parks at Kingsview Village Apartments. Kingsview Village is a 326 unit Apartment Home Community located in Germantown, Maryland.
McShea has been named Property Management Agent by The Adler Group for 270 Technology Park. 158,800 square feet of office/flex space in five buildings, located at 5310-5350 Spectrum Drive, Frederick, Maryland.
McShea & Company, Inc. is pleased to announce the Sale of The Banner Life Building located at 3275 Bennett Creek Avenue, Frederick, Maryland. This 115,000 square foot, Class A office building was sold by Urbana Corporate Center, LLC. Jack McShea, Bob Dickman and Rick Farren represented the seller.

McShea is named Exclusive Leasing Agent for Quince Tree Executive Center I & II. The 73,000 square foot office buildings are located at 806 & 818 W Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Bill Quay, Ro Waldron and Chuck Kusbit are responsible for the leasing and sales.
Joseph “Joe” Friedman joins McShea & Company, Inc. as Vice President of Investment Sales. Joe is a 10-year industry veteran. Prior to joining McShea, Joe co-founded a high performing investment sales team at a major brokerage company in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2008, the team was awarded the “Industrial Transaction of the Year” by the Washington Business Journal for the sale of a 1.3 million square foot industrial portfolio. Joe graduated from the University of Michigan and is currently pursuing his Masters in Real Estate Finance at Georgetown University.
Merrill Lynch leased 22,000 square feet at One Montrose Metro, a 115,000 square foot office building in Rockville, Maryland. McShea & Company, Inc. represented the Landlord.
McShea leased 40,000 square feet to Cosmos Films at 16038 Business Parkway.
2010
McShea announced the formation of McShea Residential Services, Inc., a subsidiary of McShea & Company, Inc. McShea’s multi-family portfolio of managed properties has grown steadily in recent years, motivating the company to form a new subsidiary dedicated solely to serving owners of multi-family communities. Steve Lynch, CPA and Executive VP of McShea & Company, Inc. and a partner since 1987, will spearhead the company’s new venture as President of McShea Residential, Inc. Connie Patterson-Norris has joined the firm as Chief Operating Officer. Connie has 30 years of experience in the multi-family industry. She is the past president of the local chapters of both the Institute of Real Estate Management and the Property Management Association, and is a past winner of IREM’s Property Manager of the Year Award.
GWCAR’s Lease Transaction of the Year is awarded to McShea for its representation of Natelli Communities in the leasing of Banner Life Insurance Co’s. 115,000 square foot, build-to-suit headquarters building in Urbana, MD.
McShea & Company leased 66,500 square feet to the 3M company at 12215 Plum Orchard Road in Silver Spring, Maryland. Bob Dickman and Jack McShea represented the Landlord.
Hughes Network Systems leased 77,000 square feet at 100 Lakeforest Boulevard, Gaithersburg, Maryland. McShea & Company, Inc. represented the Landlord.
Andy Shulman, Vice President of Leasing, was the 2010 recipient of the prestigious ORT America Young Leadership Achievement Award. ORT is a non-profit, non-political, organization that provides educational and manpower training needs worldwide.
McShea is named Exclusive Leasing & Management Agent for Montrose Metro One, a 115,000 square foot Class A office building located at 11921 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Md. Bob Dickman, Brian McCarthy and Bob Wrightson will handle the leasing. Susan Ruiz will serve as Senior Property Manager.
McShea is named the Exclusive Leasing Agent for 900 Clopper Road in Gaithersburg, a 78,000 square foot office building owned by NEA Member Benefits Corp. Bill Quay and Ro Waldron will handle the leasing responsibilities for McShea.
Thompson Reuters leased 70,000 square feet at 1445 Research Blvd. in Rockville, Maryland. McShea represented the Landlord.
